Postdoctoral Positions in the human genetics program
at Sanger Institute

The Wellcome Trust Sanger Institute is seeking to recruit talented postdoctoral fellows in human genetics to research projects focusing on genetics of human diseases, especially those of complex traits. This program has been substantially expanded with recent faculty recruitments of Drs Leena Peltonen and Aarno Palotie and their groups For more detailed information of typical projects see : www.leenapeltonen.eu or www.ncoedg.org The Sanger Institute has substantial activities in the field of human genetics including genome-scale resequencing using new technologies, large scale genotyping and association studies, genome-wide copy number analyses, searches for predisposing alleles in a number of diseases (cardiovascular, metabolic and neuropsychiatric diseases). Sanger Institute has existing strengths in bioinformatics in computational sequence analysis, genome annotation and gene sequence analysis at the DNA, RNA and protein levels. The candidates with some experience in bioinformatics and statistical genetics would be especially valued.  The positions would be available starting Fall 2009.
